Orientation activities for the Class of 2024 will take place Tuesday, Aug. 24 - Wednesday, Aug. 25. This is your opportunity to learn about important Kenyon support services, begin to experience College traditions, and meet other members of the Class of 2024 and upperclass students.

Tuesday, Aug. 24

9 a.m. - 8 p.m. Residence Hall Move-in

Pick up your keys at the Lowry Center and move into your residence hall.

7:30 p.m. Meet Your Orientation Leaders

Meet your Orientation Leaders in the lobby of your residence hall before heading over to the pizza and connection event.

8 p.m. Pizza and Connections

Join us for free pizza and pop in the Gund Commons Ballroom. This is your opportunity to meet other members of the Class of 2024 through a creative, fun and structured format. You will have the opportunity to meet some new class members as well as have the opportunity to hang out and reconnect with friends that you made during your first year.

Wednesday, Aug. 25

9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Residence Hall Move-in

Pick up your keys at the Lowry Center and move into your residence hall.

12:30 - 1 p.m. Sophomore Orientation Check-In

Check-in for Sophomore Orientation at Rosse Hall and receive the schedule for the afternoon and information about the Sophomore Success Series.

1 - 1:20 p.m. Kenyon Welcome

Students and guests are welcomed back to Kenyon by President Decatur and the deans. Learn how the orientation program can continue to support you throughout your collegiate journey with Kenyon inside and outside of the classroom. 

1:20 - 2 p.m. Small Group Activities

Small group, topic-based activities in various locations led by Orientation Leaders dedicated to reconnecting you with your classmates.

2 - 2:30 p.m. Academic Advising Overview

Meet the dean of academic advising and learn about faculty advising and academic support services in this conversation-based program in Rosse Hall.

2:30 - 3:15 p.m. Sophomore Sing Rehearsal

Still in Rosse Hall, learn the four songs that you will sing at your own Sophomore Sing as well as during senior week before graduation. This event is optional but encouraged if you plan to attend the Sophomore Sing event.

3:25 - 3:45 / 3:55 - 4:15 p.m. Campus Support Sessions

These sessions are dedicated to informing you about the support services that you can take advantage of during your time at Kenyon. Please select two sessions that you would like to attend. Each session will be 20 minutes long.

  • Campus Safety: The Campus Safety team will review safety and emergency protocols on campus and share examples of programs available for students (Hill Theater).
  • Civil Rights/Title IX: Learn how the Office for Civil Rights at Kenyon serves as a resource and support for students and how they monitor and coordinate compliance with Title IX regulations and nondiscrimination laws (Higley Auditorium).
  • Student Engagement: There are many ways for students to become engaged on campus from student organizations to events to informal connections. Student Engagement team members will provide you with tips on assisting in getting your student involved on campus (Rosse Hall).

4:20 - 5 p.m. (Re) Get to Know Kenyon

Join one of the below sessions to (re)acclimate yourself to Kenyon’s campus:

  • Campus tour starting from the Ransom Hall steps
  • Chalmers library tour starting from Rosse Hall
  • Find your classroom tour (self-guided)
