Interested in volunteering for Kenyon? Listed below are some of the ways you can get involved and you can also read about some of our dedicated volunteers.
Alumni Council
Nominations for the Alumni Council are solicited throughout the year and due for consideration by April 1 of each year. Candidates are considered by the Alumni Council at the spring meeting and appointed by the Council for a term beginning July 1. No fewer than four members are appointed each year for a three-year term. Alumni Council members meet three times a year to become better informed about the College, to discuss issues of interest to alumni and to advise the College. For more information, contact Annie Gordon, director of alumni engagement, at gordon3@kenyon.edu or 740-427-5096. Learn more about Alumni Council.
Alumni of Color Mentoring Initiative
The Alumni of Color Mentoring Initiative gives students the opportunity to network with and learn from alumni of color, and provides former Kenyon students the chance to give back and shape students' lives.
Class Agents
Alumni volunteer to serve as liaisons between the class and the College by writing at least two letters a year to their class providing information about the College, classmates, and the Kenyon Fund. For more information about being a class agent, contact Terry Dunnavant at dunnavantt@kenyon.edu. Learn more about current alumni class agents.
Kenyon Network on LinkedIn
This group for alumni, students, faculty/staff, parents and friends is designed to facilitate interactions and resource sharing among the entire Kenyon network.
Kenyon Fund Executive Committee
KFEC members are appointed by current members. The group meets twice during the year to advise the staff on goal setting, strategic planning, implementation and monitoring of the Kenyon Fund. For more information, contact Molly Gutridge, director of annual giving, at gutridge1@kenyon.edu or 740-427-5286. Learn more about the current Kenyon Fund Executive Committee.
Regional Steering Committees
Alumni and parents serve as officers to coordinate regional programs and plan events with assistance from the College. There are more than thirty regional associations throughout the country. For more information, contact Emily Shackle, associate director of alumni and parent engagement, at shackle1@kenyon.edu or 740-427-5239. Learn more about regional associations.
Reunion Planning
Each year, beginning in early fall, alumni who have a major reunion (every five years) in May work with the College to plan the celebrations. For more information, please contact Christina Cook at cook5@kenyon.edu. The Kenyon Fund Volunteer Handbook contains useful information for members of the reunion committee.
Affinity and Identity Groups
Alumni affinity and identity groups provide additional opportunities to connect across shared interests or organization membership. For more information about establishing an affinity or identity group, please contact Chrissie Laymon, assistant director of alumni and parent engagement, at laymonc@kenyon.edu.
