By the end of April, Kenyon will have proudly welcomed more than 400 newly admitted students and their families to campus for programming designed to highlight the people, place and purpose behind our vibrant residential liberal arts education.
During three separate Admitted Student Programs, future students and their families spent their time in Gambier learning firsthand about the Kenyon experience. From dinner in Peirce with fellow students, to sitting in on their choice of classes, students are welcomed by President Julie Kornfeld and Vice President for Enrollment and Dean of Admissions Diane Anci, hearing from faculty on interdisciplinary topics, and exploring a robust student resource fair.
The well-attended events would not have been possible without the efforts of many Kenyon faculty and staff. From the 18 campus offices that have participated in the Student Resource Fair to the faculty members who generously opened their classes to prospective students or shared their experiences as curricular collaborators — Madeline Wade, Jodi Kovach, Chris Gillen, Wendy Singer, Jay Corrigan and Leah Dickens — the time and care of each ensured that everyone attending felt warmly welcomed into our community and excited about Kenyon.
“It’s so important for prospective students to be able to see themselves on a college campus,” Anci said. “Everyone who has welcomed our guests, in one way or another, has made a difference for our admits, their families and the College as a whole. My colleagues and I are deeply grateful.”
The third and final Admitted Student Program will be held April 20-21. Please continue to extend a hearty congratulations to Kenyon's future students as they approach the end of their college admissions process.
