In an effort to make the parking website more accessible and update information, it will be under construction between June 5 and July 15, 2023.

Information for Students (2022-2023 Academic Year)

All vehicles owned by and/or operated by Kenyon students must be registered before arriving on campus. Failure to register will not absolve the owner and/or operator from fines incurred from parking tickets. A student who has not registered their vehicle is ineligible to appeal parking tickets. A fine of $250 will be issued for failure to register a vehicle.

Vehicle registration for the academic year will occur by class and based on how a student is listed in Banner. The following dates are the dates and times (Eastern Standard Time) that vehicle registration will first become available for each class.

Seniors: Wednesday, July 26, 2023, 12 p.m. (noon) EST
Juniors: Thursday, July 27, 2023, 12 p.m. (noon) EST
Sophomores: Friday, July 28, 2023, 12 p.m. (noon) EST
Incoming/First-Years: July 31, 2023. 12 p.m. (noon) EST

All students must register their vehicle before they bring it to campus to ensure they have a spot. Student vehicle registration continues to be available throughout the academic year unless/until all parking spaces/permits have been exhausted.

The annual cost for a student parking permit is $200. A single semester is available for $100, however, if it is for the fall semester, the $200 charge will be incurred and a credit of $100 will be rendered once there is proof of the vehicle no longer being on campus. Parking registration fees are applied to the student tuition/account. The requirements for registration are as follows:

  • Applicants must agree that they have read the Warnings, Citation, and Fines portion of the website regarding the operation and possession of a motor vehicle at Kenyon and accepts the conditions therein.
  • Applicants must have and maintain a current registration displayed on the vehicle from the home state of the vehicle titleholder.
  • Applicants must have, present, and maintain a current operator’s license.
  • Applicant/titleholder must assume all vehicle financial responsibility as required by law in the State of Ohio.
  • False or misleading information entered on the registration form may result in disciplinary action through the college's judicial process, and/or the revocation of the permit without refund.
  • Transfer of permit from one student to another is not approved and may result in disciplinary action through the college's judicial process, and/or the revocation of the permit without refunding both students.

Dates for the permit retrieval will be announced via email via student-info@kenyon.edu and will occur during check-in.

Student parking permits must be displayed on the right rear bumper or lower right-hand corner of the vehicle's rear windshield. Only the current year's permit is allowed. All previous permits must be removed. Failure to properly display or have more than the current permit will result in a Failure to Display fine.

Register your vehicle online.

Information for Employees

All vehicles owned by and or operated by Kenyon faculty and staff must be registered with the College. Employee vehicles do not require annual renewal. At times, Campus Safety may ask for all employees to re-register and will receive a new permit. Employees are allowed to register two vehicles and receive a permit for each vehicle. Once the vehicle registration is completed online, an email will be sent to the registrant with instructions for retrieval.  The requirements for registration are as follows:

  • Applicants must have and maintain a current registration displayed on the vehicle from the home state of the vehicle titleholder.
  • Applicants must have, present, and maintain a current operator’s license.
  • Applicant/titleholder must assume all vehicle financial responsibility as required by law in the State of Ohio.

Additional Permits

Temporary Permits

Temporary permits are available for non-registered vehicles and are issued for no longer than three (3) days.  Temporary permits can only be given to students twice in one semester.

Circumstances justifying temporary permits for longer than three days would include a substitute vehicle brought to campus while repairs are made on the registered vehicle.

Medical Permits

A student with a state-issued disability placard is allowed to park at any space throughout campus that is designated with the international symbol of access for persons with disabilities.  Due to the lack of available parking, medical permits will be replaced with medical transport for the current academic year.  All medical transports are only upon the recommendation of the Health and Counseling Center.

Visitor Permits

Temporary parking permits are available for visitors on campus. These are offered at no cost to the visitor at the Office of Campus Safety. The individual requesting the permit must be accompanied by their host. Note: Visitors are bound by the same rules and regulations as students, faculty, staff, and others on the Kenyon campus. The host is liable for any violations and resulting fines incurred by the visitor.
