Noelle has been with the Brown Family Environmental Center since September 2016. Since her arrival, she has had a great time extending Kenyon’s reach into the community with relevant programming, and working with the BFEC team to fulfill their mission: to connect people to nature and to conserve natural diversity.
Prior to the BFEC, Noelle was director of education at Shangri La Botanical Garden & Nature Center in Orange, Texas, and was part of the team that opened the facility to the public. She built the education department and programming from the ground up, serving up to 25,000 people per year with education programs, and winning several awards for programming in the state of Texas and regionally.
She earned a Master of Science degree in environmental education from Southern Oregon University in 2002, and for several years worked seasonally to gain experience in different facets of environmental education. She has had the pleasure of leading live animal programs with hawks, owls, and skunks; sailing on a tall ship in the Delaware Bay; splashing in tide pools on Maine’s rocky coast; and spotting whales and puffins in the Bay of Fundy.
Now closer to home (Cincinnati), she is thrilled to experience the fullness of all four seasons, and loves the rolling hills of central Ohio.
