All in the Family

Parents flocked to campus for Family Weekend, when they were treated to theater and music performances, sporting events and much more.

The mist rolled in over Family Weekend — along with some rain —  but that didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits as enthusiastic parents joined students on campus for all sorts of fun.

More than 1,200 people registered for the festivities, which showed off Gambier in its full fall glory, especially for those who attended the Harvest Festival at the Brown Family Environmental Center.

Throughout the weekend, the Hill was alive with the sound of music thanks to concerts by the likes of the Kokosingers and the Kenyon Symphonic Wind Ensemble. Others took the stage for more dramatic performances, such as “Alice in…” at the Bolton Theater and the Fools on the Hill comedy show.

Fans had a chance to cheer on their favorite athletes, too, as the Owls played home games in field hockey and men’s and women’s soccer, and the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams hosted the annual Kenyon Relays.

Rounding out the activities were open classrooms, expert speakers, student scholars presenting summer research, and meet-and-greets mixed in with quieter moments for catching up and walking down a misty Middle Path.
