Mission

The residential experience at Kenyon College is a key piece of the student experience. The Office of Residential Life creates dynamic living environments which instill values of learning, responsibility, advocacy, inclusion, identity. This mission is the foundation of the residential experience and is vital to the growth and development of Kenyon students.

Our Values

Learning
The opportunity to learn is everywhere. The spaces where you study, sleep, and socialize are active classrooms where you will practice resilience, explore multiple dimensions of wellness, and continue to grow.

Learning at Kenyon means existing outside of your comfort zone and being receptive to the challenges and opportunities you will encounter. There will be ups and downs and the community will celebrate and support you the whole way through.

Responsibility and Advocacy
Kenyon students are engaged members in their communities and are continuously shaping their own experience. In your residential experience you will develop effective communication skills, listen deeply and intently to the perspectives of others, and find your voice for advocacy.

Inclusion and Identity
As Kenyon College approaches its bicentennial, we look back on where Kenyon has been and what lies ahead. Students have made 200 years worth of memories in our residence halls and you will add to that long list of memories.

During your time at Kenyon, you will learn from your community and appreciate your likenesses and differences. You will examine your own identities and better understand what makes you, You.
