1.1 Purpose of IRB Kenyon College IRB Policies & Procedures Manual
The IRB Policies & Procedures Manual serves as a reference guide describing the policies, procedures, and regulations governing research with human subjects and the requirements for submitting protocol applications for review by the Institutional Review Board of Kenyon College. The intended audience of users includes research administrators, principal investigators (faculty, staff and students), and IRB members.
The manual describes and explains the various aspects of the review process and regulatory requirements. In particular, investigators should carefully review the section of the manual (section 2.0) that addresses the process for the submission of protocol applications.
The field of human subjects protection is constantly evolving; some parts of the manual may be updated from time to time. The IRB chair will keep the Kenyon research community apprised of revisions or new developments as they occur.
