Students and guests are welcomed to Kenyon by the deans. Learn what to expect through Orientation and beyond, both inside and outside the classroom. Samuel Mather Lawn (Rain location: Toan Track, Lowry Center)



2:45 - 4 p.m. Orientation Group Meetings

Get to know other new students and your Orientation Leaders (OLs). Your OLs will review the Orientation schedule, answer your questions and mentor you through your first steps at Kenyon. Your Orientation Leaders will meet you at the opening session and take you to your Orientation group locations.



3 - 5 p.m. Parent and Family Orientation

Learn about the offices and support services that will contribute to your student’s Kenyon experience in this series of three 30-minute information sessions. Families may choose from presentations by Academic Advising, Campus Safety, the Career Development Office, Dining Services, Health and Counseling, Library Services, the Office of Civil Rights, the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Student Engagement. Family members will receive a family schedule at check-in with details on locations.



5 - 7 p.m. Dinner for Students

Peirce Hall

Dinner is provided for students only. View local dining options for families.



5 - 7 p.m. First-Generation Dinner and Panel

Peirce Pub, Peirce Hall

First-generation college students and their families are invited to dinner with members of the Student Affairs Division and the campus community to discuss resources to support the transition to Kenyon.

 

RSVP required; hosted by the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

 

Kenyon defines first-generation students as students whose parents or legal guardians did not graduate from a four-year institution.



6:30 - 8 p.m. Family Dessert Reception

Peirce Hall LAwn

Families are invited to join Acting President Jeff Bowman and members of the Parent Advisory Council for a dessert reception.



7 p.m. Community Advisor Meetings

First-year and transfer students meet their Community Advisor (CA) and other floor residents and learn important information about living on campus. 

 

First-year students: Your CA will email you the location of your meeting and it will also be posted on your floor.

 

Transfer students: 112 Farr Hall
