Bolton & Hill Theaters

Arts

From Shakespeare and Molière to Albee and Mamet, drama comes to life on two main stages.

Bringing plays to life

From Shakespeare and Molière to Albee and Mamet, the Bolton Theater offers an exciting venue for drama. The Bolton is a modern, versatile facility serving a drama program whose graduates enjoy remarkable success finding careers in the theater and related fields.

The building opened in 1978, with an inaugural production directed by movie legend Paul Newman, a 1949 Kenyon graduate. (One of the actors in that show was Allison Janney ’82, who would go on to win accolades of her own for stage and film roles.)
