Poetry in motion (prose, too)

Words reign — and rain down — in Finn House, the elegant home of the Kenyon Review. Here, student “KR associates” work with the journal’s editors, reading submissions, interviewing authors, and organizing programs like Poem in Your Pocket Day and the annual Kenyon Review Literary Festival. A 2008 renovation of the 19th-century house added the Cheever Room, a light-filled space that hosts a busy schedule of readings, lectures and seminars. Built by an 1849 graduate of Kenyon, Finn House is an exquisite example of Steamboat Gothic architecture, featuring elaborately carved woodwork on the outside.

Finn House factoids: Originally called Neff Cottage, the building once served as an oyster house, a fraternity lodge and the home of the College’s dean of students.
