Prime real estate: South Campus

Students like Hanna and Leonard Halls for their prime South Campus location — they’re the two historic residence halls flanking Old Kenyon.

Hanna (built in 1902-03) houses independent students as well as the members of the Archon Society, a co-ed student group. Built in 1924, Leonard Hall now houses independent students as well as two fraternities (Delta Tau Delta and Beta Theta Pi) and three sororities (Theta Delta Phi, Epsilon Delta Mu and Zeta Alpha Pi).

Hanna fact: A first-floor room in Hanna was used as the character Zibby’s dorm room in the film Liberal Arts” (2012), which was written and directed by Kenyon alumnus Josh Radnor ’96, who also starred in the film alongside Oscar-winner Allison Janney ’82. Radnor is best known as the star of the TV show How I Met Your Mother.

Leonard fact: The building was designed by architect Abram Garfield, a son of U.S. President James A. Garfield.
